LPG Truck Loading Terminal Installation in Canada

LPG Truck Loading Terminal with Hose Retrievers

LPG Truck Loading Terminal with Hose Retrievers

LPG loading terminals are often exposed to inclement weather and harsh winters, resulting in wet and unstable working conditions. These extreme conditions not only create safety concerns but prematurely deteriorate hoses and other equipment.

In partnership with our Canadian distributor, Northern Platforms, they recently installed a budget-conscious turn-key solution for a customer needing a platform built to withstand the elements. This project included an ErectaStep platform and a hose retriever system designed to safely prevent tripping, tangles, and kinks while extending the life of the hose. The hose retriever base plate and hose support were directly installed to the ErectaStep platform elevating the hose off the ground and safely allowing the truck operator to load the truck.

In an effort to reduce installation time and simplify site logistics, the ErectaStep patented prefabricated modular system was prebuilt off-site and hauled into the facility by truck. The platform was installed in a single day and was easily assembled on-site without the need for specialized tools.

The platform now provides the operator a positive traction surface to safely withstand harsh Canadian winter elements, while no longer having to struggle with hoses during loading.

One of our Canadian customers was prematurely wearing out hoses at an LPG loading terminal. As you can see in the before photo, the terminal had trip hazards and it was difficult to safely load trucks because rain and ice created slippery, muddy conditions. Through Northern Platforms, our Canadian distributor, they were able to work with the customer’s budget and provided a turn-key solution that was installed in a single day. In addition to an ErectaStep platform, this solution included a hose retriever system to keep excess hose raised off the ground. The hose retriever keeps the loading hoses off the ground and makes it easier and safer for the truck operator to load the truck. Additionally, it prevents safety hazards, kinks, tangles, and prolongs the life of the hose. The hose retriever base plate and hose support were installed directly to the ErectaStep platform.

Even though our ErectaStep is a patented prefabricated modular system that is easily assembled on-site without the need for special tools, this platform was prebuilt offsite and trucked in to reduce site logistics and decrease installation time.

Now the operator no longer has to fight with the hoses during loading. The upgraded LPG terminal with the hose retriever is easier to handle and the aggressive stamped platform surface provides the operator with a positive traction environment, even under extreme weather conditions common to Canada.
