Bulkhead Fitting

A bulkhead fitting is a threaded fitting that is installed on a wall of a fuel container or tank.

A bulkhead fitting is typically installed near the bottom of a tank to aid in water drainage.

A fitting allows piping connections to be made on a tank. A hole is cut in the tank into which the fitting body is inserted. A nut with gasket threads onto the body to hold it in place. The locknut puts pressure on the gasket(s) that allows it to make a liquid tight seal.
