Shut off Valve

A shut off valve has a built-in mechanism that stops the downstream flow of liquid. Alternatively known as the block valve.

With a shut off valve, you are able to stop the flow to areas of a pipeline.  

This clears an area in the pipeline for servicing.

Ordinary shutoff valves incorporate, either manual, spring activated, or electrical closing methods.
