Breakaway Connector

A valve that is placed in between the fuel pump nozzle and the dispenser at gas stations.  If a self-service customer accidentally drives away with the nozzle still placed in the gas tank, the hose will disconnect at the breakaway connector.  

Consumers drive away with the gas nozzle still in the tank frequently.  The breakaway connector saves thousands of dollars worth of damage every day.

According to Business Insider, the cost to replace a gas nozzle is $200.00 to $400.00.
